The project stems from the specific need to make housing and residential complexes energetically autonomous, limiting dependence on oil for the supply of domestic energy. The actions planned and implemented aim at the total reuse of domestic and human waste and scraps. Promoters of the initiative are three partners of the Ge.Di. Srl, Altanet srl, Polytechnic of Bari who set up the GAP network promoting the innovative initiative.

In particular, the following took part: Graziantonio Pallotta (owner of the Ge.Di. Srl Group), Francesca Tirelli (Ge.Di. Srl Group), Vitantonio Bevilacqua (professor of Bari Polytechnic), Pierluigi Montanaro (Altanet Team), Giuseppe Paradiso (Ge.Di. .Di. Srl).

The focal theme is the eco-sustainability of housing, tourism, residential and care systems. That is the medium-large communities that this project, is a candidate to become Passive from an energy point of view. An example is the “Transition Towns”, or communities of 1000 people who, through the intelligent use of waste, solar energy and water management, achieve very high percentages of eco-sustainability.

The ambitious and innovative project, as it makes changes to the management systems of buildings and residential districts, making them become “urban aggregates with a shared“ green ”strategy”. What was presented is a project Demolab, fully functional, which simulates the disposal of waste (wet and fecal) by acting on the paradigms of: Waste to Energy; Energy self-sufficiency; Efficiency and structural monitoring through the concepts of the internet of things; reasoned management of resources through intelligent and optimized home automation systems for efficiency, savings and reuse of energy resources.

During the experimentation, the project highlighted its strong contribution to the improvement of domestic energy management conditions thanks also to the support given by the timely monitoring of biogas and methane gas production data processed from data obtained from artificial intelligence techniques. applied to the system. Monitoring of the cost savings associated with the innovative home eco-efficiency service is also carried out through business intelligence and home automation tools. This path is made possible by the union of the specialized skills of the partners in the partnership network operating in the specific sectors of construction, green building, ITC and home automation.

The beneficiaries of the project are the users who will be able to record a significant reduction in consumption costs in their bills estimated by 75%. No less important is the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
